1. Discussion topics:

a. Mentorship pairing mentees and mentors. Review of the mentee/mentor list.  We have paired up the first several mentees with mentors and will notify everyone this week.  We have not yet paired up new riders who filled out the mentee questionnaire if they have not yet purchased their 2024 membership or come to one of our first events.  We will be sending out another communication to mentees who have not yet attended a BBC event (group ride or race), as getting to know someone in person will give us a better sense of which mentor may work best and what someone’s needs are.

b. USAC Marilla punch list

Discussed social media post for additional volunteers.  Marilla primarily needs club members to drive vehicles (lead or wheel cars) during the two race waves.  5 security guards will take care of traffic control as they did for the Marilla club race on 4/21.  Tim Williams will handle the scoring at the finish line.  We may get one extra volunteer to help with scoring.

c. USAC Resurgence Crit

Discussed the remaining needs for the permitting process with Rich Scaduto.  The main thing we need is the signatures from the businesses and residences on course, which we obtained last year.  We worked up a plan to get those signatures in the next two weeks.  Marshalling requirements are high for this race.  We have 6 paid security guards.  We have 5 corners that need marshalling, but we discovered last year that a total of 17 additional marshals are needed to fully staff this course based on all conceivable ways that traffic could interact with the closed roads.  This is the biggest lift the club faces and will need to recruit help from a variety of sources, including club members, other cycling clubs, friends, and family.  We’ll pay you $40!  If you can marshal for some time before or after your race, that would be ideal to help fill in the spots.  Additional volunteers are needed for the registration table, podium, and loudspeaker.
