Excused: T Robinson
Meeting Called to Order: 7:06
Treasurer’s Report: J Thompson shared a summary of the bank account, with expenditures (zoom account, branding and marketing) and income (increasing due to registrations).
Women’s Racing: Race categories for women’s races – summary provided by subcommittee members including E Haskell, J Farell and E Hill. Discussion included survey results from 2020, methods to increase number of women club members and women registrants for sanctioned races. The subcommittee recommends flexibility and intentionality to promote women’s participation.
Mentor Program: Skills clinic was successful on 4/19. F Grillo is eager to receive feedback regarding successful activities and opportunities for improvement. E Haskell noted that a survey may increase the feedback. F Grillo reviewed the drills and skills for the upcoming skills clinics. He’s recruited excellent instructors for the clinics.
Marketing: E Haskell and C Alessi have been recruiting sponsors for BBC events. Current supporters include Kanberra products (again- thanks Kanberra!). thefeed.com has also come on board as a club sponsor. Many other WNY companies have already made marketing commitments for the year. Without more sponsors, some of the finances of the USAC races may need to be reconsidered (for example, extra primes in crits). We reviewed bike shops who will be supporting our USAC races (such as Bert’s for ECC races; Campus Wheelworks for Tour of Buffalo Downtown criterium).
New Business:
Items for sanctioned races; Hay bales- will be important for criterium race in the city of Buffalo. We’ll need a storage site- will check with R Hengel, porta-potties, wheel cars.
M Schneider graciously accepted the invitation to chair the video committee.
The club logo is being updated, a sneak peak was shared and it looks SHARP
The meeting adjourned at 8:19
