- Upstate NY Omnium, a partnership of the GVCC Classic and BBC Hamburg Road Races
- last in a series of meetings and emails to finalize details of the two day omnium on June 21-22
- In previous meetings, discussed categories on offer, distances per race, omnium scoring, language for Bikereg pages
- In this meeting, finalized categories and distances per race. Discussed marketing and cross promotion for both events
- social media posts are starting to go up on Facebook and Instagram. Both clubs will share by social media and email to draw attendees
- Plan2Peak Health & Human Performance Skills Clinic
- Plan2Peak and Peter Cummings will host a sanctioned skills clinic on Grand Island on Saturday/Sunday May 24-25 on Grand Island.
- Similar format last last year. Three separate components, one being virtual instructional videos and quizzes, one day of skills, and one day of practice racing on the Fireball course.
- Originally decided on Beaver Island location, but after the meeting James reached out to Beaver Island who said they would not approve the location on Memorial Day weekend because it is opening day weekend for them. Currently have an email out to the Grand Island school system for the use of empty parking lots for the skills clinic portion.
- Mentorship
- discussed current outreach to mentors. We have more mentors than mentees at the moment. Will start targeting outreach for new members and those wishing to be paired up with a mentor. Will be a mix of brand new members plus anyone who was new last year who didn’t get as involved with the club as they would have liked.
- Marketing
- discussed some race logistics and marketing promotion that will be needed. Erin has been working on social media posts, many of which are now on our social media. James will do email outreach to past racers to inform the cycling community of our USAC races.
