February Meeting Minutes

Monday February 17th at 7pm on Zoom

  • Schedule
    • we finalized the 8 Sunday Series races and the 10 Thursday Night Fireball races, dates, and locations.  They are up on the BBC Event Calendar website now.  The season will be broken up into two halves with separate leaderboards and end-of-year trophies for each half.  Each rider gets one drop race from each half of the season.
  • Scoring
    • We decided on a new scoring format for 2025 for both series.  15, 14, 13, 12, 11, 10 , 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 points.  This keeps 15 points as the max while having more places get more points to differentiate all age bracket scoring as the season progresses
  • Age brackets
    • all club races will see racers racing against the whole field to get their points, but then those points will go into age brackets for final scoring.  Age brackets will be under 25, 25-34, 35-44, 45-54, 55+ for A and B fields and men and women.
• USAC Racing
  • we reviewed our 4 USAC race pages on Bikereg.  All races will open at the end of February, as will club membership
  • We reviewed logistics for the State TTT championship, which is a brand new race for 2025.  Discussed pricing for events relative to costs (approximately $3500 estimate for the event) as well as the inclusion of non-state champ events for individual TT’s
  • We reviewed logistics for Freedom Run since we are moving its date and scaling it down from a peak summer race to an early spring race.  We discussed the field offerings for a reduced-cost race where we will be doing the timing ourselves
• Next steps
  • discussed logistical planning for Resurgence Crit and Hamburg.  City permit process for Resurgence is underway.  James and Drew met with Resurgence earlier in February and got their blessing on the event.
